SHIMANO TORIUM Or Calcutta??
I'm looking into getting a Shimano torium ( 4 of them) and wondering if the tor20 is a good choice. Any one here have experience with this model reel? I'm also looking into the Calcutta line up but I just can't make up my mind. I'm hoping you all will help me do this. Any decent reels I should know about besides Penn? I'm cleaning house again and looking for all new gear. All the old stuff get's donated to the local kids in my neighborhood as always ( I do this every 2-3 years) and It drives my wife nuts! That's why I do it, I can't be crazy all by myself. ; ) Thanks for your answers ahead of time. Good luck catchin'.
I've never owned a Torium but I once had a "loaner" Calcutta for the better part of a year.
Calcutta's are exemplary reels, (with an exemplary PRICE tag!! You can buy an old Volkswagen for the price of 4 Calcutta's!! lol)
Go to Basspro.com and look at the reviews the Torium received. Seems the Torium is "hot & cold", (according to the reviews).
I guess people really like the Daiwa "Saltist" as an option. This might be the way to go....??
