Why would a fly reel wear out very quickly?
I bought a pflueger starter kit and the tooth that catches the gear on the reel and provides resistance wore out in about 20 casts , so i took my friends reel and its a scientific anglers reel, and it started to wear out also, my friend has the same pflueger combo and has had no problems and what am i doing wrong?
there was alot of sand in the pfluegar , and my friends was sitting on a wall for like 10 years
boom the sand wore the gears out faster. the other one may have had dust that wore them out or just be a crappy reel.
