Favorite GPS,And Fish finders?
Looks like we are the new owners of a boat . We will be needing a new fish finder and a GPS plotter. What are your favorites and why?
My self I have a Lowrance 332C on the bow, and a 520C at the helm. They do the job and are great, are easy to use. Navagation threw the menu is easy, you can also keep track of miles, distance, speed, water temp, depth ext. With attachments you can also keep track of GPH (gallons per hour) used. Sense gas gauges on boats are hardly ever correct this would give you a good way of keeping track of exactly how much fuel you have in the tank left.
Go threw the company web pages I have provided and pick the one that is within your budget and fits you water applications.
A lot will depend on the depth of the water you are going to be fishing...ocean or inland water ways. Lowrance makes a dual beam transducer that is suited more for deep water (in my book)
If I could afford it tho think I would give the Humming bird side shooting units a chance, but supposedly Lowrance is coming out with its own version of the same product.

Garmin also makes good product, but their screens are not as big as the above mentioned units.

There are other companies that make sounders, but most of them are for salt water applications. Raymarine, Furuno to name a couple. Oops almost forgot about Eagle, they are owned by Lowrance. Big difference between Lowrance and Eagle is the pixel count in the screens. Lowrance has more hence a bigger screen, why they cost more the Eagle. But they both have the same features.
