Need to know if anyone has used Hawkeye Portable Fishfinder or yellow TL-88?
I am interested in going out and buying just a cheap inexpensive small fishfinder for the small amount I have a chance to do.
I have narrowed it down to a Hawkeye Portable or a TL88 (yellow made in china)
does anybody have any experience in one of these models. They are basically small hand held units with a floatable tranducer you can just throw over the side of the boat or of a dock etc.. (you can also mount them though) and read to 100m (good enough for me!!!)
It's hard to find reviews on them although I did on the Hawkeye and most of them were favourable. I would like to find out about the yellow one though as it seems to be a more rugged from the pictures anywyas
Any advice would be appreciated,

yes i have the hawkeye and it is the worst fishfinder ever. it gives way to many false readings. me and my buddy went to a spot on the lake and put it in a 7 foot hole where we could see there was no fish. and it said it was 25 feet deep and fish were swimming through there like crazy and they werent. Trust me if you buy this you will be dissapointed.
