Diff. between a dual core and a Pentium 4 CPU?
I upgraded my pentium4 CPU(2.4Ghz) to an Intel Dual CPU(1.6Ghz).But I am having problems playing games like assassin creed and others with this CPU.What could be the problem?Is this CPU less efficient than the previous one?Also what is the actual freq. of this CPU,1.6 or 3.2?Is there any better version of CPU available?
Is there any way or software or anything so that the games can use full CPU like some other programs?
sorry, but you made a mistake. you bought a slower CPU than you had.
a dual core CPU means each core is running at the indicated clock (in your case 1.6Ghz). as the most games are not capable to use the advantage of 2 cores in parallel, games are running on only 1 core at 1.6Ghz, whilst on the P4 they run on 1 core at 2.4Ghz.
p.s.
in case the dual core you got is a Core 2 Duo 1.6Ghz, 1 core should be as fast as the P4 2.4Ghz due to the improved processor architecture. if it's called "Intel Pentium dual core" then it's slower than the P4.

no, there is no such software. either the program (game) is written as multi-threaded or not.
