Weightless flukes, doesn't hook bass and double rig?
I've recently started using zoom flukes and they work really well as in I get a ton of hits and bites from them. But I almost always lose the fish. It's more likely I lose them and they come of the hook than it is if I keep them hooked. Why is this? Also how do you double rig? There aren't any tutuorials on youtube that I could find, and the ones online aren't too good from what I've seen any really good answers would be greatly appreciated, thx.
how, exactly, are you hooking them and using them. size hook, et cetera.
l have used small sizes 2 and 4 tru-turns on these with good results. also using them on a dropshot rig. same hook.
make sure your hook isn't TOO small and most importantly, keep it sharp.
perhaps you are using a light spinning rod with insufficient backbone to set the hook into a bass's jaw?
one other thing here. when l first thought "fluke" the one that came immediately to mind was a thin flat leech sorta' looking thing. l still use many of these old plastics and some were also called flukes. the ones more currently in use definitely would require a larger hook. but not much more than a 1/0. a 2/0 at the very most. but if dropshotting them, l would still stick to the tru-turn. l like the lighter wire models. they hook easier than the heavier ones.
